Learn to Teach!
One of the most common ratings sought after a commercial rating is the Certified Flight Instructor Course. This equips you to train and teach others how to fly. In this course you will learn how to effectively communicate with students and Methods of Instruction
- Have logged at least 250 hours (or 190 hours Part 141) total time.
- Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate or ATP (ASEL or AMEL) with Instrument Rating.
- Hold a valid FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate (or higher).
- Pass the Flight Instructor Knowledge Test
- Pass the Flight Instructor Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) Knowledge Test
- Receive all the required ground training
- Receive all the required flight training
- Pass the Flight Instructor – Instrument Airplane Knowledge Test (FII). (CFII Rating Only)
- Pass the FAA’s Practical Test for Flight Instructor – Airplane Single-Engine (Multiengine) with a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)
